Despite not playing any games, it has been a busy period for franchises - figuring out coaching and leadership changes, re-signing star players, and navigating the free agency market. Ever since free agency began on March 11th, the league has already seen some major moves.
Running back and reigning Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III signed with the Kansas City Chiefs; the Baltimore Ravens strengthened their defence by adding Trey Hendrickson; and the Tennessee Titans acquired John Franklin-Myers from the Denver Broncos.
The NFL has already had a rich and busy offseason, highlighted by blockbuster trades and cancelled commitments. But teams are far from finished when it comes to building their squads - there are still several notable free agents waiting for new contracts.
With the draft just two weeks away, now is the perfect time to make key signings before adding young talent. While most marquee players are off the board, reliable, experienced, and impactful contributors remain available. We took a look at the best remaining free agents.
Aaron Rodgers, QB
The most famous, established, and decorated free agent is yet to make a decision about his future. The Super Bowl champion and four-time MVP spent the last season in Pittsburgh, where he proved he could still compete with the best.
He took the Steelers to the playoffs while throwing for 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. Rodgers is 42 years old but still showcased great mobility, quick release, immense throwing speed, and effective decision-making. Clearly, the quarterback has some magic left.
Coming back to Pittsburgh makes the most sense, as that move would reunite him with Steelers’ new head coach Mike McCarthy – they won the Super Bowl together in Green Bay, and know each other well.
It would be a full-circle moment for Rodgers, who can still impact the team as a starter. Entering his 22nd season, he can run the show but also mentor and guide young talent.

Deebo Samuel, WR
Samuel is coming off a rocky one-year stint with the Washington Commanders. After starting the season 3-2, the Commanders were struck by injuries and suffered an eight-game losing streak. Samuel struggled to find rhythm as Washington battled instability at the quarterback position, and he recorded a career-low 10.1 yards per reception.
The wide receiver used to slice through defence like a hot knife through butter during his first five years in the league with the San Francisco 49ers. And while he may no longer be at his peak, he still has plenty to offer
Samuel can still make a difference within the offence. He’s out of his prime, but he’s still a threat – creating separation, thriving in the open field, avoiding tackles. If he is used well within a system that fits his game, he can give a team a competitive edge.
Landing spot prediction: Los Angeles Chargers
Jauan Jennings, WR
Jennings suited up for the 49ers for the last five seasons and is now looking for a change. He is a consistent route runner who can endure contact and break tackles. At 28 years old, Jennings is still a speed threat and has the potential to be a No. 1 wide receiver on certain rosters.
During his last year in San Francisco, he didn’t record jaw-dropping numbers, but the 49ers struggled with injuries and played seven contests without Brock Purdy.
He still tallied 55 catches for 643 yards and had nine touchdowns. He is productive and possesses a rare willingness to block. It’s interesting to say the least that Jennings hasn’t found a new home yet, but maybe that has something to do with his reputation that took a hit because of some on-field stunts that happened during last season. Trash talking, disrespect, and punches stained his player profile.
Landing spot prediction: Las Vegas Raiders
Steffon Diggs, WR
Last season, Diggs helped the Patriots to achieve one of the best and fastest rebuilds in NFL history, leading to a Super Bowl appearance as their top receiving option. Despite starting over in New England after an ACL injury, Diggs had 1,013 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 85 catches.
The four-time Pro Bowler might not be as explosive as he used to be, but his latest year proved all the naysayers wrong about his ability to still shine as the No. 1 receiver.
Diggs can offer veteran experience, leadership, and mentorship. The reason why he is still available is most likely connected to the drama that surrounds him off the field – he’s fighting legal trouble as he pleaded not guilty to felony strangulation and other criminal charges. He is a tough, physical, savvy runner, and if he resolves his personal battles, he might get picked up extremely fast.

Taylor Decker, OT
Decker has been in the NFL for 10 seasons, all with the Detroit Lions. And he was set to stay, until the Lions asked him to take a steep pay cut. The left tackle refused and started looking for a new home. In 2025, he was battling a lingering shoulder injury that visibly kept him from being himself and playing at his best.
He posted an 89.3 % pass block win rate, which was the second lowest in his decade-long tenure. But if he gets healthy in the offseason, he can still make a huge impact on a team that desperately needs toughness.
His experience makes him valuable, and a new leadership could provide a nice spark to his rich football career that is far from being over. If he returns to full health, Decker can still make a significant impact, particularly for a team in need of toughness and experience on the offensive line. He played in 14 games last season and continues to demonstrate resilience and competitiveness.
Landing spot prediction: Green Bay Packers
Joey Bosa, DE
Pass rushers remain highly valuable in the NFL, and Bosa is a seasoned five-time Pro Bowl selection who was underrated in his role with the Buffalo Bills, where he moved last season after spending the previous nine with the Chargers. Bosa isn’t in his prime anymore, but he still plays at a very high level. This past year, he recorded five sacks, nine tackles for loss, and 24 quarterback pressures.
Bosa is known for his tremendous effort, high motor, and never quitting on a play. He is 31 but still willing to leave it all on the field and do whatever it takes for his team to win. He is tough and has a winning mentality that will also benefit any franchise in the locker room. Bosa might not be a starter, but he would be a great addition to a prime No.1 edge.

Russell Wilson, QB
Still one of the biggest names in free agency, Wilson is flying under the radar a bit. He had a disastrous season with the Giants – after beginning the year as a starter, he struggled to perform and was benched for Jaxon Dart.
Eventually, he got demoted to a third-string quarterback behind Jameis Winston. It was clear Wilson was not coming back to New York. He’s still looking to sign a new deal, but does he have a starting spot in this league?
Wilson can be useful and impactful, but it seems that his role will be to back up another quarterback. And while that doesn’t feel right with such an established and winning-proven name, he is 37 years old and not as mobile and explosive as he used to be. He’s a smart veteran, and his football intelligence makes him a valuable No. 2 option and mentor.

Joel Bitonio, G
Bitonio spent his entire 12-year career with the Cleveland Browns, where he was a high-calibre, effective offensive guard. He’s a great pass protector and allowed just two sacks in 2025. According to Pro Football Focus ratings, he was the eighth-best guard in the NFL last season.
Bitonio might have lost his step over the years, but he still provides elite, reliable interior help and could be a reason why a team makes the postseason.
Cleveland’s offence has been struggling over the recent years, and blocking for a franchise with Super Bowl aspirations would bring a new spark to Bitonio’s career. He’s still talented, and his seven Pro Bowl selections speak louder than anything.
