The New York Giants announced on Tuesday that rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart will receive the start over Russell Wilson for their Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

New York is currently 0-3 with Wilson under center this season and are now ready to bring in the rookie.

Wilson posted a 59.1% completion percentage as the starter, throwing for 778 yards, three touchdowns, three interceptions, with a 78.5 passer rating (24th) and a 34.0 QBR (30th).

It is now Wilson's third straight team (Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers) where he had been brought in as the new starting quarterback, only to lose the spot at some point in the season.

Dart was the No. 2 rated passer during the preseason, completing 32-of-47 passes for 372 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, including 52 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

New York's 25th overall pick will now be up against one of six undefeated teams left in the Los Angeles Chargers in his first career start. Their pass defence ranks ninth in the NFL and have given up the fourth-fewest points (50).
