Denmark's women's national football team remain unbeaten after 15 months under the leadership of coach Jakob Michelsen.
Late Monday (CET), the Danish team defeated Canada 4–3 in a friendly match in Toronto. Canada took an early lead, but three Danish goals within the span of ten minutes turned the game around.
Tottenham's Olivia Holdt kickstarted the team's effort with a spectacular goal from the halfway line; overall, she put in a dazzling performance, recording two goals and an assist before halftime.
Canada got off to the better start, and found the net after ten minutes as Danish goalkeeper Freja Thisgaard looked somewhat unconvincing when she punched the ball away. The home team maintained the pressure, and Delaney Pridham managed to score amidst a crowded penalty area.
Denmark struggled to find their footing after the goal, and the home side nearly doubled the lead in the 18th minute. Thisgaard made a close-range save against Janini Sonis after the ball had struck the post.
The Danes turned the tide with an incredible goal midway through the first half.
Olivia Holdt intercepted an attack and took a shot from the center circle, catching Canadian goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan off guard; Sheridan was standing well off her line and could not recover in time.
The goal injected new optimism into the Danish side, and just four minutes later, the 0–1 deficit had been transformed into a 2–1 lead. Sofie Bredgaard struck the crossbar with a long-range shot, and the rebound fell to Pernille Harder who confidently fired the ball into the far corner to give Denmark the lead.

A few minutes later, Harder turned provider, setting up Olivia Holdt, who found the corner with a shot from close range to make it 3–1. Canada pulled a goal back shortly after the break through a somewhat fortuitous strike by Evelyne Viens, but Janni Thomsen restored Denmark's two-goal cushion on the hour mark firing a low shot inside the post from the edge of the box to make it 4–2.
However, Canada reignited the contest thanks to a goalkeeping blunder when an effort from Olivia Smith slipped past Thisgaard to make it 3–4 with 20 minutes remaining.
The home side had a chance to equalize, but the Danes held on for the win after seven minutes of stoppage time.
