The Parken stadium, home of FC Copenhagen and the Danish national football team will replace the red seats with blue ones this summer.
"In 2024, all of the stands were given a makeover in white, and with blue seats this will enhance the complete visual experience at the best stadium in Denmark", says FC Copenhagen on their website.
"We are very much looking forward to launching this project", says FCK director Jacob Lauesen to the club's website.
FCK plays in white and blue, and the club would like to emulate those colors in the stadium in order to boost club identiy.
Since the reconstruction of the stadium in 1992, the seats in the stands have been red, but from summer they will be dark blue instead.
According to FCK, this is done to create a simple, aesthetic overall impression.
"Our home ground is an essential part of our identity, and therefore the Parken stadium must of course also be white and blue", says Jacob Lauesen.
Work on the seats will start after a Robbie Williams concert in the Park on 19 June.
Work on the seats will take place over a longer period and take FCK's match schedule into account, without the club setting a precise timeframe for the color project.
