The news of Gidsel's injury will deepen the worries for Fuchse's Danich coach, Nicolej Krickau, who was frustrated to see the reigning German champions suffer a very surprising defeat against TBV Lemgo in the German Bundesliga during the weekend.
"We expect to play in Kolstad without Gidsel. We take no chances. Even if he himself says he is ready, I don't care. I'll wait until we see what the doctors say."
"Maybe he won't travel with us, maybe we'll let him stay at home. But even if he travels, I don't know if I'll let him play. I hope it is not too serious", says Nicolej Krickau to "Bild".
Hopefully, Mathias Gidsel manages to recover from the shoulder injury before he joins the rest of the Danish national team at the start of the new year.
Denmark will aim to win the European Championships, which start on 15 January next year.
