Despite some defensive struggles in the first 30 minutes, there was never any doubt about the Danish victory as the Romanian defense never had a chance to stifle the fast Danish attacking play.

The second half was a fairly uniform Danish march towards a big victory, even though the home side became a little sloppy towards the end and wasted a host of chances which could have made the win even greater.
Despite his slow start, Mathias Gidsel became the Danish leading goal scorer with nine goals, while Simon Pytlick and Mads Hoxer followed closely behind with eight goals each.
The second half, however, had a disappointing climax when Lukas Jorgensen suddenly fell to the ground during a counterattack in what seemed likely to be a rupture in the back of his thigh. It looked like a serious injury and a farewell to the European Championship for the Flensburg-ace.
It was also worth noting that Denmark did not receive a single two-minute suspension in the match. And Kevin Moller finished with a save percentage of over 42, while Barcelona keeper Emil Nielsen got a day off on the bench.
In the other matches of the evening, Slovenia recorded a 38-35 win against Switzerland and Hungary won 32-26 against Italy.
