Toronto Maple Leafs top draft pick Gavin McKenna scored his first career goal in the team's comeback win over the Nashville Predators during Tuesday's slate of action.

Maple Leafs 5-4 Predators

Nashville's Steven Stamkos moved up to 17th on the all-time goals list as he put up his second and third goals of the season. But after going down 3-0, the Leafs went on to score five of the next six goals.

McKenna's first pulled the Leafs within one with just over five minutes left in the second before Jack Roslovic scored the equalizer in the third to send it to OT where Auston Matthews scored the game-winner.

Red Wings 5-3 Senators

The Detroit Red Wings handed the Ottawa Senators their first loss of the season. Fans booed former captain Dylan Larkin every time he touched the puck, as he had made it loud and clear before the season that he wants to be traded out of Detroit.

But those boos died off when Larkin scored his first of the season, also later tallying an assist on Viktor Arvidsson's goal. Meanwhile, Ottawa's star Tim Stutzle stays hot after scoring his third goal of the season.

Rangers 5-2 Islanders

Alexis Lafreniere recorded his third career hat trick after sending home two empty-netters in the third period en route to a New York Rangers win over their rival New York Islanders.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored the other two goals for the Rangers, the first of the game and the second that tied it 2-2 entering the third period.

Sabres 3-2 Wild

The Minnesota Wild got out to a 2-0 lead in the second period before the Sabres rallied in the third. Noah Ostlund and Tage Thompson tied it up to send it to OT before defenseman Owen Power, who assisted on Ostlund's, sent home the eventual game-winner.

Minnesota managed to put up more than five shots on goal in only one of the four periods of play.

Hurricanes 6-4 Canadiens

The Carolina Hurricanes outlasted the Montreal Canadiens thanks to a pair of goals from Taylor Hall. After Sebastian Aho tied things up 3-3 with his fourth goal of the season, the Canes went on to score four of the game's next five goals, including two in the third period despite just five shots on goal.

Aho led all players with three points thanks to a pair of assists.

Mammoth 5-3 Devils

Luke Evangelista single-handedly tied things up 2-2 for the New Jersey Devils with a pair of goals before the Utah Mammoth scored three of the next four.

Utah's Nick Schmaltz scored his league-leading fifth goal en route to their third win of the season.

Blackhawks 4-2 Blues

The Chicago Blackhawks got the win in Patrick Kane's home return exactly 19 years after his NHL debut with the team. Kane spent the past three seasons with the Red Wings before coming back home to Chicago.

Mason McTavish put the Blues on the board first, but Chicago eventually scored four of the game's next five goals, including two empty-netters in the third period.

Sam Rinzel, Anton Frondell, Cole Smith, and Frank Nazar all scored their first goals of the season for the Blackhawks.

Golden Knights 6-2 Kraken

Panthers 2-1 Kings
