A regular in our Team of the Week, Branderhorst showed out again for Fortuna Sittard. But this time, he actually kept a clean sheet.
In Fortuna's 2-0 win over Heerenveen, Branderhorst recorded eight saves and prevented a total xG of 2.28.
DEF: Souffian El Karouani (FC Utrecht) - 8.4
El Karouani was linked to a move to Ajax last week and, on Sunday, showed out against the team that might become his employers soon.
The Moroccan left-back, who was snubbed for Morocco's upcoming friendlies against Mozambique and Uganda, assisted both of FC Utrecht's goals from set-pieces, created a total of three chances, and recorded two interceptions in his side's 2-1 win over the record champions.
DEF: Matisse Didden (FC Utrecht) - 8.5
One of the guys El Karouani assisted was centre-half Matisse Didden, who opened the scoring on Sunday with a powerful header in added time of the first half.
Besides his goal, Didden delivered the most passes out of any Utrecht player (29), won six aerial duels, and cleared the ball 10 times.
DEF: Dean James (Go Ahead Eagles) - 8.4
Dean James was the difference maker for Go Ahead Eagles in their 2-1 win over league leaders Feyenoord. The Indonesian international scored a beautiful, decisive goal in the 86th minute after an impressive solo, and also created two chances, had four interceptions, and won two tackles.
DEF: Yannick Leliendal (FC Volendam) - 8.3
Making his second appearance in our Eredivisie Team of the Week, FC Volendam right-back Yannick Leliendal came up big in his side's second win in three league games.
The Surinamese international assisted Robert Muhren's 78th-minute winner that completed a second-half comeback. The assist was part of Leliendal's three created chances, besides which he completed more passes (69) than any other Volendam player, won nine of his 13 duels, and won possession a team-high seven times.
MID: Mauro Jr. (PSV) - 8.1
He's PSV's Mister Consistent and delivered again on Sunday: Mauro Jr. has been nothing short of fantastic this season.
The Brazilian delivered his fourth assist in the last five games across all competitions and even opened the scoring in Alkmaar, where PSV beat AZ 5-1 in an imperious showing. On the other side of the ball, Mauro Jr. won possession seven times, recorded three interceptions, and won three duels.
MID: Noah Naujoks (Excelsior) - 8.3
It has been a tough season for promoted outfit Excelsior, who have already lost eight games in the Eredivisie. Bottom feeders Heracles marched into Rotterdam and grabbed another win on Saturday, but didn't beat Excelsior without a fight.
Noah Naujoks led that fight with his five shots, eight won duels, and three won fouls. A win wasn't to be, but Naujoks was a bright spot for the struggling hosts.
MID: Walid Ould Chikh (Heracles Almelo) - 8.2
On the other side, Heracles' Walid Ould Chikh was of great value again for his team. Heracles had one of the worst starts in league history, but have now won two consecutive games, and that's partially thanks to Ould Chikh.
Ould Chikh was involved in three goals in his last three games and scored Heracles' equaliser on Saturday. The midfielder also tied for the team-high in won duels (10), won five fouls, and created one chance.
MID: Joey Veerman (PSV) - 8.1
Mauro Jr.'s midfield partner in crime is no half-bad player of his own: Joey Veerman was snubbed from the Dutch squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Poland and Lithuania, and he might have made Ronald Koeman regret his decision already.
Like many more times this season, Veerman pulled the strings in PSV's midfield. The Volendam native completed 66 passes, 27 of which went into the final third, won possession eight times, and scored PSV's 4-1 early in the second half.
FW: Guus Til (PSV) - 8.7 (Player of the Week)
No Eredivisie player was as effective as Guus Til was last weekend. The midfielder-turned-striker notched a hat-trick against AZ, his former team, and led the way to a rampant PSV win.
Til's first goal was the result of a smart team move, while his second came after an impressive solo effort, and his third was a free header in injury time of PSV's 5-1 win. Til filled in for Ricardo Pepi, who was deemed not fit enough to start, and did exactly what was asked of him.
His 8.7 rating earns Til his first Player of the Week award of the year - a well-deserved one, in our humble opinion.
FW: Kento Shiogai (NEC) - 8.1
20-year-old Kento Shiogai hasn't been the most consistent for NEC, but everyone knows how talented the young Japanese forward is. On Sunday, he got to show his talents again against FC Groningen.
Shiogai scored during his second-half cameo and tied for the team-high in completed dribbles (2). He's been getting a very limited amount of minutes lately - could this performance change Dick Schreuder's mind somewhat?
