Best Midfielder: Mohamed Salah vs Manchester United (H) - 7.2 predicted points

Mohamed Salah is back in control as the top midfield asset for this week, with a home game against Manchester United carrying plenty of promise, despite blanks for the Egyptian in consecutive league games.

Salah has remained consistent this season, with two goals and two assists from seven appearances. He has lacked the double-digit hauls which became commonplace for him in his record-breaking 2024/25 season.

He loves playing Manchester United, with 13 goals and six assists from 15 league meetings. The Red Devils are struggling defensively in this campaign; they have conceded seven goals in three away trips.

Midfield Gem: Ismaila Sarr vs Bournemouth (H) - 5.3 predicted points

Crystal Palace midfielder Ismaila Sarr is a big differential, in just 6.5% of sides, but should be considered a key pick for this weekend, for the visit of Bournemouth. The Eagles are unbeaten at home in this campaign.

Sarr has been incredibly consistent so far this season, producing four goal involvements in just five appearances. He ranks fifth for FPL points per 90 among those with consistent minutes this season.

Sarr has an impressive record at Selhurst Park this season, with two goals from two appearances. His prediction of 5.3 points for Gameweek 8 ranks him seventh among all players for this weekend.

Best Forward: Erling Haaland vs Everton (H) - 7.3 predicted points

Erling Haaland retains his status as the captain favourite for FPL Gameweek 8, after an impressive start to the season, with his 16-point haul in his most recent home game against Burnley the highlight.

He has scored in five consecutive games, taking him to ten goal involvements in seven appearances this season: nine goals and one assist. His underlying numbers suggest these returns are sustainable, sitting top for shots (29) and big chances (14) among all players.

Manchester City continue to climb the Premier League table, taking 10 points from a possible 12 since the last international break. They’ve scored more goals (15) than any other team this season, with Haaland central to that output.

Forward Gem: Jarrod Bowen vs Brentford (H) - 5.1 predicted points

West Ham are waiting to see a new manager bounce since the arrival of Nuno Espirito Santo in late September, taking a point on the road to Everton before a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal. A home game against Brentford could be the time to make an impact.

Striker Jarrod Bowen is expected to be central to that, having provided the Hammers' only goal in Nuno’s short tenure to date. He has three goals already this season, being their best fantasy asset for the campaign by some margin.

He is a big differential being in just 7.3% of teams. Bowen’s underlying numbers are sound, with 15 shots on goal, including seven on target. He could claim penalty duties too, with Lucas Paqueta taking the previous spot-kick, under Graham Potter’s tenure.
