City head to Old Trafford in the 198th instalment of the Manchester derby as Guardiola clashes with interim boss Michael Carrick in what is a tough first game in charge for the former midfielder.

Guardiola shrugs off Guehi rumours
Guardiola first said he has “nothing to say” about the links to Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi despite news breaking that the club have agreed a deal for the defender. He quickly moved on to team news on a City side riddled with defensive injuries.

How has Guardiola kept his job for so long?
Guardiola has been with the Citizens since 2016 and is currently in his 10th year at the club. He is the longest serving manager in the Premier League by some distance and revealed the secret to staying in the job.
"Results, results. If you don't win, you are sacked. If we don't win, I would be sacked. We won a lot, that's why I am sitting here. There is no other secret.
"Another club after last season I would not be here anymore. They are more patient maybe because what we did in the past as well. We had three months that was really poor. The past was really good so that is why I am still here."
Guardiola unsure on Carrick
Finally, he was asked about Carrick and admits that he does not know a lot about how he will line up his side this weekend so he will instead focus on City's strengths instead.
“If you don't have more info of the opponent, you focus on yourself and the players. You can have some ideas of what Middlesbrough has done or when Michael was in his part as a manager at Man United, but tactics is about the players and the players tomorrow are different to the Middlesbrough ones.
“I don't have a timeout after 10 minutes to tell them what Michael wants to do. When you don't have info it's better to focus on yourself. The game we played against Chelsea recently with their new manager, the first half was completely different to how they played in the second half. That's why you have to focus on yourself.”
