Vejle's Dutch striker Jelle Duin is probably out for the season, says coach Steffen Kielstrup in an interview with TV2 Sport.

Duin put pen to paper on a 2,5 year contract with the struggling Danish Superliga outfit in January, but he has barely been in action and it could be a while before we will see the former AGF-striker back on the pitch.

"He is injured and will not be in action this summer, so we do not have him available", sais Steffen Kielstrup after Tuesday's training.

Jelle Duin will be recognized by most Danish football fans after scoring two goals in the last round of the 2022-2023 season to help AGF win bronze medals.

The 26-year-old Dutchman took part in several of Vejle's test matches before the restart of the season and made his his debut against  Silkeborg as a substitute. But apart from that, he has only played 15 minutes in the away match against Viborg

Duin's injury comes at a bad time as Vejle, who are bottom of the Danish Superliga, are desperate in need of firepower up front as leading goalscorer German Onugkha, who has otherwise scored eight goals in eight matches, has failed to find the net in the last two fixtures.

Vejle are six points behind Sonderjyske and AaB at the bottom of the league. The next task is on Thursday against Viborg at home.
