Goalkeeper
Ugurcan Cakir (Galatasaray) 8.6
Galatasaray's Ugurcan Cakir stood tall between the sticks on Friday evening as the Istanbul giants narrowly beat Alanyaspor 1-0 on the road to maintain their perfect record in the Super Lig.
Ugurcan did his part, and then some, making eight saves and keeping a clean sheet despite the hosts racking up an Expected Goals on Target (xGOT) score of 2.59. Rightly so, the keeper thus earned the highest rating in the match.
Defenders
Paulo Henrique (Vasco da Gama) 9.2
All three of our chosen defenders are Brazilian this week, curiously, and we will start over in Brazil, where Vasco's Paulo Henrique caught the eye with a goal and an assist from full-back as his side overcame Cruzeiro 2-0 in Serie A.
Not only did Paulo Henrique record the highest player rating in the match, but he also led the way in terms of touches (85) and duels (16).
One of the most dramatic results of the weekend was Arsenal's 2-1 win over Newcastle in the Premier League, which was clinched by Gabriel's 96th-minute header.
The big Brazilian didn't just score the winner, though. He won the most aerial duels in the match (eight), made the equal most tackles (three) and interceptions (three). It's safe to say he was superb!
Lucas Beraldo (PSG) 9.0
French champions PSG got back to winning ways at the weekend with a routine 2-0 victory over Auxerre, with both their centre-backs, Ilya Zabarnyi and Lucas Beraldo, scoring for a change.
Beraldo was the outstanding player of the match. The 21-year-old led the game in accurate passes (84), touches (105), and aerial duels won (six).
Midfielders
Alex Zendejas (Club America) 9.4
Moving over to Mexico, two of the capital's biggest clubs, Club America and UNAM Pumas, met in a derby over the weekend, with the former coming out on top 4-1 to stay within a point of Liga MX leaders Toluca.
The star of the show for Club America was USA international Alex Zendejas, who netted twice in the second half, as well as leading the match in total duels (14) and touches in the opposition box (nine).
Sean Longstaff (Leeds United) 9.6
Leeds United picking up Sean Longstaff from Newcastle for under 14 million euros is beginning to look like very clever business indeed. The bustling box-to-box midfielder has been an integral member of his new side, and he put in his best performance yet in their 2-2 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Longstaff assisted Leeds' first before scoring their second. What's more, he led the game in ground duels won (eight), tackles (six), and big chances created (two). Impressive all around!
Joey Veerman (PSV) 9.0
PSV's Joey Veerman is no stranger to our Team of the Week. The Dutch maestro has appeared plenty of times in the past, and he put in another strong performance at the weekend as his side edged Excelsior 2-1.
Veerman scored the crucial equalising goal, but that wasn't all. He also led the game in aerial duels (seven) and passes in the final third (28).
Can Uzun (Eintracht Frankfurt) 9.8
One player who has really lit up the Bundesliga this season is Eintracht Frankfurt's Can Uzun. The tricky Turkish attacker shone once again on Saturday as Frankfurt thumped Gladbach 6-4, netting five times in the first half, remarkably.
Uzun notched a goal and an assist in the victory to move to eight combined goal involvements for the season already (five goals, three assists). Against Gladbach, he had the most shots (five) and the most passes in the final third (24).
Forwards
Angel Di Maria (Rosario Central) 9.5
We don't often fly over to Argentina in our Team of the Week, but we were compelled to by the performance of Angel Di Maria, who gained a hefty 9.5 rating thanks to his goal and assist in Rosario Central's 3-0 win over Gimnasia L.P. in Group B of the Clausura.
At 37 years old, Di Maria is showing no signs of slowing down. He already has five goals and two assists for his new club since moving home from Benfica after the close of the last European season. Class is permanent, it seems.
Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) 9.3
Another weekend, another Harry Kane record. The Bayern marksman added another brace to his belt on Friday as the Bavarian giants brushed Werder Bremen aside 4-0. Quite incredibly, Kane's latest double takes his total in the Bundesliga to 10 already, after just five rounds.
With his second, Kane also reached 100 goals for the club in the league, becoming the fastest player to reach a ton in any of the so-called 'top five' leagues ever. Take a bow, Harry.
Joseph Paintsil (Los Angeles Galaxy) 10
Last but certainly not least (in fact, most), we round off our Team of the Week with a perfect 10 rating.
Ghanaian striker Joseph Paintsil scored a first-half hat-trick at the weekend as his side, Los Angeles Galaxy, beat Sporting Kansas City 4-1. Add to his three goals an assist, and you have a pretty much flawless display from Paintsil, who has nine goals in MLS so far this season.
Unfortunately for Galaxy, they are propping up the Western Conference table, but at least Paintsil is making a name for himself as the regular season draws to a close in the States.
